Is it advisable or even possible to find light weight trainers that I can put orthotics in and use them as my racing shoes for races 15k and longer? If so, any suggestions?

I think the Saucony Fastwich or the Asics DS Racer are both pretty decent, lightweight "stability" flats. They aren't as light as most flats, but light enough and provide some support.
+1 for both the Fastwitch and DS racer.
Maybe try the Saucony Mirage as well. They look bulkier than they feel.
You may want to try the PUMA FAAS 500S or the FAAS 350S. They are both lightweight (the 350 is lighter than the 500)stability trainers. Some people complain that they are not stable enough, but if you are going to use them with (custom?) orthotics, they may be all of the stability you need.
adizero tempo is excellent
With the orthotic, do you really need support in the shoe?
Take your orthotics and an old pair in to your local running store and they ought to be able to figure out what will work.
Your title and post are 2 different questions.
If you want lighter stability shoes, try lunar glides.
This a temporary fix because they are being replaced by the Wave Sayanaras, but Mizuno Wave Elixir's are/were fantastic lightweight stability trainers.
anyone know of a very narrow shoe in this category? I do ok with the adidas tempo but I don't love them. Everything else I've tried has been too wide.
