Just a quick question about the Wisconsin roster, is Rob Finnerty still eligible to run for Wisconsin? His bio states he redshirted in 2008, so 09, 10, 11, 12 = 5 years. You have 5 years to use 4 years of eligibility right? Or did he get a 6th year?

He only ran one or two years of XC; he was injured several years. So, yes, he got a sixth year. All you have to do is look at the roster and at their website to see a story on it.
Since almost none of the current team has raced at Indiana State, they are going there for the tri-meet. I do not know for certain, but I would think that the Wisconsin Invite is the same weekend as the Pre-Nats race at Indiana State. It was surprisingly hot at the initial, low-key meet, so it is hard to say too much, but some of those 6/7/8/9 guys ran pretty well while seemingly staying within themselves if you look at the reports from the race.
To avoid confusion, please refer to the school by its correct name: the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
If you take under a certain number of units the clock doesn't start ticking. Also medical waivers and religious mission trips, military, etc. can add time.
Good point, I think a lot of people were thinking the #7 team in the country was Wisconsin- Milwaukee, they have been saving up for the last 50 years or so

Yawn, old news on Finnerty. He deserves the extra year.
Whoever called it the University of Wisconsin-Madison you are indeed right. But in regards to NCAA cross country...
when you say Wisconsin you've said it all

actually Wisconsin is bring their "A" team to this dual meet. Reason being many of their runners have not run at ISU and being the NCAA meet is at ISU this year their coach wants them to run the course. Wisconsin won't be at pre-nationals so this is their only chance to run the course prior to the NCAA meet
for those in the area here are race details
The meet will begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m. (EST) with the men’s and women’s 8000/5000 meter open race for the unattached Sycamores, as well as Rose Hulman. At 10:30 a.m. (EST) the women’s 5000-meter race will kick off, with the men’s 8,000-meter race following at 11:15 a.m. (EST) The meet will be run at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course. Due to construction on Highway 42 and Swalls Road, traffic will have to take Highway 40 to Tabor Town Road.

It will be interesting to see how hard they run and if/when the pack breaks up.
This is uncharted territory for a University of Wisconsin-Madison fan.
Will some ISU guy be tweeting updates?

not sure if anyone will be tweeting, but I have people at the race and will be posting info/results as they're texted to me. I'll get them on as soon as I receive them. This is just a dual meet, so it's pretty low key.
