All modern running shoes are built the same way. A stiff sole to keep your foot from flexing freely, a lift off the ground which causes ankle instability, and usually some measures to correct that instability, which don't work. Which is why people in high running shoes don't like TURNING!
Also a blocking of sensory feedback that might help you learn to run better, rubber to wear down because of your sloppy abrasive technique, laces & uppers to compress your metatarsals, a toe box that pushes your big toe outward causing the foot deformity endemic to shod societies. They render your toes basically useless. "What are toes for anyway?" Ah who needs em. Who here has ANY foot coordination? We never learned how to use them. Why? SHOES!
