Ah I almost had a heart attack...
he qualified, but almost went home.
Aries Merritt is an egregiously doping cheat. In my opinion.
Disgusting.
I won't even go over his 2012 season. One of the most disgusting, ever.
Here he is in 2013 backing into the final in 13.44 (-0.3), .05 behind the next-slowest qualifier.
I chafe when see his scumbag face on the track.
I hope he goes down in a heap in the final, he deserves it.
agree with sprintgeezer. he hasn't been within .3-.4 of where he was last year. huge difference. no real explanation
sprintgeezer
put down that crack pipe...

Did you watch the race? Have you seen the other thread? He had a .327 reaction time. He would have easily won that heat. I predict him for gold.
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=5340302As someone who doesn't care that much about sprint/hurdles. I like Merritt. He's certainly preferrable to me to Richardson because of Block.
Why do even follow the sport?
Do you think that the gold is going to go to someone that "deserves it."
Aries Merritt had one of the best years anyone has ever had in the sport last year.
Probably juiced.
But all of the top athletes were probably juiced.
Why feel any more special contempt for him?
But I do say that Merrit has to have the craziest graph of performances with an insane spike in 2012 over the preceding and following year.
I just don't want to see Merritt on the track at all.
Anybody would be preferable, because there is nobody in the 110mH who is as egregious a doper as he was in 2012 IMO.
Check out the "WR is gone 12.80" thread on letsrun, which is where I roast Merritt.
I can't stand the guy, I don't care if he is technically "clean" this year.
Rojo, yes, I saw the RT. I don't care how he performed, the time is really immaterial. Compare his 2013 season to his 2012 season, and then look at that "WR is gone 12.80" thread.
He is by far one of the most obvious dopers there is. Although he may not be using this year, once a doper, always a doper.
Biggest frauds in the sport:
Bolt
Blake
Jeter
MERRITT
I want to see him crash out on hurdle one in the final.
SCUMBAG.

You are an idiot. I know Aries personally and have seen him train. No way in the world he is a doper. He had a torn hamstring earlier this year, therefore training hasn't been as good as it has been in the past. Have you ever torn your hamstring? Let alone ever competed?
Aries had an amazing year last year, most consistent hurdler the entire year.
Just because someone doesn't have a great following season and has a bad race doesn't mean they're a doper.
I've seen your comments and posts before and on other threads and you are such a pessimist, ignorant, and self absorbed "fan" and analyst. Get over yourself and quit being a hater.
You have no idea what goes on in training or how people are feeling or what kind of injuries or pains they are going through at certain times of the year.
All you haters are scumbags
Thank GOD he finished out of the medals.
you're pathetic.

Haven't you read Sprintgeezer's post before? That's how he operates - claim EVERYONE of any significance is an obvious cheat. Then look smart when one of them gets caught.
Bullcrap.
It's not "Just because someone [Merritt] doesn't have a great following season and has a bad race" that he arouses suspicion, as you so transparently try to misrepresent.
Learn how to read, do some of it, and get back to us.
Merritt, 13.31 (+0.3)
Impressive. He's still riding the wave of the massive doping that he did in 2012.
This is a time that one would expect of him in the final, given that he had to go all-out in the semi just to get in...just a bit slower than his semi was, maybe .05 slower.
Now compare this time, and his semi time, to his entire 2012 season.
Unbelievable. He is beyond the pale.
This posting scheme looks familiar
Were you the one defending Gay?
What is it with you and defending Black American athletes who are obvious cheats?
How do you know ALL of these track athletes?
WHY IS ROJO SO FAR UP EVERY ATHLETE THAT HAS KNOWN MARK BLOCK?
Why isn't anyone pointing the finger at Nike, who clearly control the running world?
There is no more a petty, jealous, insecure animal on the planet
than a white male. Can't accept others are simply superior to him.
All these accusations o drugs is just a pathetic excuse for white
men are mediocre physical and physiollogical specimens.
How about you learn how to not be a piece of garbage.
So Aries had a great season last year, therefore you suspect him of being a cheat. You try to back up your claim with the fact that he hasn't run close to those times of last year with almost all the late season races being sub 13.
REGARDLESS, you don't know him. Clearly don't pay attention to what has actually happened throughout the season.
Although you're entitled to your opinion. I can tell you that you're wrong and what comes out of your mouth is indeed bullcrap.
Go hate on another sport.
I am a little confused how somebody can be the "most egregious doper" on the track. I mean, it seems somewhat binary to me. Somebody either cheated, in which case they are a doper, or they didn't, in which case they aren't.
You seem to be suggesting he takes much higher doses than other dopers. It doesn't seem to me like that would make somebody a "more egregious doper" than others, just a willingness to accept a different level of risk than those who use less drugs.
I would like to see all drug cheats caught, regardless of whether they are more "egregious" than others or not. That being said, we can't assume somebody is doping just because they run a few tenths faster one year than others. All we can do is keep insisting the sport tests and does everything it can to catch any cheats and hopefully continue to tighten the noose and keep moving towards the (probably impossible to reach) ideal of it being impossible for anybody to cheat.
