Recently, I've been training in the Brooks Glycerin 10, which Brooks just updated to the Glycerin 11. Unfortunately, along with that update came yet another price hike on the model.
It will now run me $150 to purchase a pair of Glycerins - far less than ideal for a cash-strapped college runner such as myself. Given that I only get about 2-3 months of running out of each pair, I'm searching for a suitable substitute, preferably in the $100-110 range. Even $40 of savings goes a long way in terms of pocket money.
Parameters:
1) I need a neutral model that can accommodate my custom orthotics.
2) I require a fair amount of inherent stability from any given neutral model. I found the Glycerins to be more supportive than, say, the Brooks Ghost.
3) I am a mid-to-forefoot striker.
Thanks!
