There is not a finer example of lack of coaching education and race planning then in Galen Rupp's case.

Actually, my dear sir, Mr. Rupp performed well beyond the call of duty during indoor season. Immediately afterwards, a major announcement was made that seventeen Olympic endurance athletes tested positive for use of naughty stuff. Mr. Rupp's coach immediately placed Mr. Rupp on a mandatory training vacation. Since then Mr. Rupp has performed as one would normally expect. The "training" envelope is not being pushed as hard by Mr. Rupp. Some might call this running scarred.
