As my username says, I'm not in the business world so I have no concept of this. I know a guy socially who is a vice president at a really big company. Naturally this sounds pretty impressive to me.
I just looked at the "management" section of his company's web site. They have about 30 "senior vice presidents" listed. He is not among them. I'm sure he's not lying about his title--I guess he just isn't "senior."
How impressive is being a vice president, exactly? I know they're a dime a dozen at banks, but what about at a large American-based manufacturing/engineering company?
