I'm considering buying a lightweight running hat to help keep bugs/sun/etc off my neck and out of my hair during the summer, and the model I'm looking at comes in white or black.
So what say you, LetsRun?

Mmm, my boy in his hat is hot. I'm turned on.

Faced with the same choice, but Nike brand, I went with white figuring it might reflect more light and therefore be cooler but I don't know how much difference that actually makes. Downside is that it got filthy with dirt and sweat pretty much immediately so it's only good for running now. Black under the rim is a nice touch though, it does cut down on glare.
Dat hat won't keep bugs off of your neck! You need one with a skirt around the back like the ultrarunners wear at badwater.
White all the way, black will absorb heat. Just rinse it off with a little hand soap after each run, and it will stay clean.
The white one but have you tried running with a cap as it makes you really hot. I can't stand it anyway.
If you don't mind paying an extra $4 the red one at the bottom of the page looks good too.
My preference:

If you want to cover your neck, here are a couple:

Go with white. It's a bit cooler.

You don't need some douchey looking "specially made for running hat." Pick a baseball cap, put it on, and go run.
Here are some good ones specially made for running!!!
Not fashion -- fashion is not my thing -- but Outdoor Research has a couple of good hats that I used for running when I lived in the Middle East and Southeast Asia: the Helios (full brimmed) and the Sun Runner (cap with skirt). Baseball caps keep the sun out of your eyes but little else (they don't even protect your ears or temples), and make your head hot. I don't "get" running in a baseball cap unless it's raining and you wear glasses. The full-brimmed Helios will also keep sun off the sides of your face and your neck and is very light. It's got a drawstring to keep the hat on in the wind. You can also roll it up and carry it in your hand.
I don't expect this is what you were wanting, since you used the term fashion, but if sun is a real issue, this is the way to go.
I have always loved my trusty brooks hat
I have the white one and love the thing, wear it a lot more than I ever expected. It is true that it is fairly hard to even notice there.
Not enough mesh for ventilation and not enough reflective parts for night/early morning running. Honest.
hmmm only if it had some reflection!
