That is going to be a hell of a battle. Who you got?
My gut is telling my to choose Gebremeskal. He's a monster.

Will Galen "I Duck" Rupp be there?

lol nope
In a fast race, yes. How is his closing speed?
He ran a 55 last lap of a 12:46 5000 last year. So if he's anywhere near that form then probably pretty good. Alamirew is probably better over the final 200, but Dej Geb is significantly stronger and can handle a much tougher pace.
gebrihiwet was on a roll early in the season but hasn't been quite as impressive lately. didn't he run like 12:48 last year as a 17 year old?? or something crazy like that? come on geb 3.0 GET YOUR SHlT TOGETHER
Yes. "17". He looks like 37 to me...
he was very fast last year. this year 7:30 in Dohaa as best performance. He is racing too much and is past his peak
in Moscow!!
Alamirew is medal lock in the 5000m and and so is Gebremeskel in the 10000m!!!! Only Moh Fara can possibly beat him.
Hopefully Lagat/Rupp can medal too!!
I think you may be overlooking muktar edris who has run well thos year. He may not win this thursday.. But is dangerous in a tactical race. Has a good kick too. If he shows that he is in 12:55 shape he maybe the third member of a strong ethiopian team. He won both ostrava and hengelo in 13:03 but in ostrava he blasted choge convincingly.
It shd be a very interestin match up. Alamirew showed he is better than goose geb... Gebremeskel is a ? .. Lots of questions will get answered tomorrow.
These guys will not beat mo farah unless they keep the pace hot and box him in. Mo farah will have to be ready for it.
Why are Alimerew and Gebrihiwet racing so much? Aren't they already locks for the 5k team? Seems weird that they race every week. Can't be easy on them.
Forget any of the names up there, the real BEAST is Mukhtar Edriss..If you don't believe me, ask Augustine Choge...
Money is my guess. I think they will regret all this racing at some point.
The Ethiopians only select the fastest athletes, since there is no cut off time, anyone who has run the fastest time prior to the selection has a chance. Given his recent form, Gebrehiwot is in danger of missing out. Edriss i think will blow them away tomorrow..
I'm not complaining...just training.

Where are Kenyans Soi, Koech and Longosiwa? I guess getting ready for worlds. Serious about medals, racing selectively?
As for Rupp, it's really a bore to see more posts about him ducking races. The man has his priorities, just as the Kenyan aces do.

Priorities as in thyroid "consultations" in Houston?
Gebremeskel out?
Not seeing him here:

Yes, Gebremeskel is out...probsbly a little tired after his sub 27 effort in Sollentuna.
Duccing the competition?

Thanks for the update.

Extremely good. He ran faster than Farah over the final 400m in London.
