Is it worth it? I already have cable TV, and a Mac Computer.

My wife has one. She uses to watch videos from her Mac or iPhone. When we travel it goes with us.
We dropped cable TV. It didn't have much to offer. Cable TV is not missed in our household.
We bought the Apple TV and an outdoor high-def TV antenna. We save about $50 a month. More than $80 saved dropping the cable TV, adjusted to $50 to account for the cost of renting movies and going to the theater once, or twice, a month.
I have one and am also cable-free.
It's cool and all; apple-simple-cleanlooking-plays well with ipad/iphone. But for me it was a waste - basically a netflix machine. I end up just plugging my laptop into the big-screen most of the time.

It's a great Netflix streamer. There are a lot of options for this (XBox, Roku, DVD players, etc), but I feel this User Interface here is best.
Also, if you have an iPhone or iPad, being able to AirPlay is fantastic. With AirPlay, you can literally mirror what's on your device and put in on the TV. With this, there is also the option of streaming Pandora or your music through your TVs audio system. This is what we do for all our parties. While the music is playing, you can also have a slide show of whatever photo album you want playing.
By having a Mac, you can also play any media you have on the computer on your TV (music, TV shows, movies). I've taken the liberty of burning all my movies onto my Mac. Now I can search them and stream them through my Apple TV. I haven't had to deal with a disk in forever.
Thanks everyone
