I tie my keys to my shoelaces (one on each shoe) and then double knot them. Shoes have never come untied during a run that way, keys have never been lost.

I second this, only I undo my shoelace one eye, thread the key with the shoelace, redo the eyelet, then tie the shoe again. This way, if my shoe ever DID become untied, the lace would have to get pulled clean out of its eyelet before the key could fall off.
Shorts with pockets, either inside the waistband or zipper packet on the back. Perfect for a card or cash and keys. If you have multiple keys, wrap them together with a rubber band to prevent jangling.

I do the same, but why two keys? If run from my car, I take only my car key. From home, just my house key (rarely do this, though, since I live in the country and don't worry much about break ins).

I live in an apartment. One key to get into the complex, one to get into my apartment.
Bodily orrifice
hide them somewhere by your car. like under some leaves. just remember the spot. highly unlikely that someone would find them, then even more unlikely that they would take your car once found.
Shorts pocket or if my shorts don't have pockets i'll stash them somewhere around the outside of my house, like digging a hole in my flower bin and burying them.

Put the car key in a freezer strength ziplock bag with your driver's license and a $20 bill. Seal it, fold it over on itself, and stuff it in your shorts pocket. You'll be able to feel its presence, and if the bag does fall out it is easy to find. The $20 is for a snack at the turnaround.
I put the shoelace through the hole in the key, lace the shoes with a bowknot, and stuff the loose laces under one of the others.
Am alternative is to tie a double knot with the ends of a spare lace, thread the top through the hole in the key, and slide it down on top of the knot. Put the shoelace over your head, so it hangs around your neck, and under your shirt in the front. The key stays on top of the knot. This way you don't have to undo your shoes to have use of the key.
a tight, velcro pocket on the most awesome raceready shorts.

Why would you want the extra weight of a key on your foot of all places in a race? I want the lightest weight shoe for that particular race so I don't want to add another ounce from a key.
Instead, thread the key into one side of your drawstring for your shorts, tie a half knot around it, then tie both drawstrings like you normally do. Even if the drawstring comes untied during the race, the key is still knotted into the drawstring.

After losing my key on a run, I don't carry one at all. I glued an extra key to a round fridge magnet along with a piece of stiff wire. That key stays stuck in a hiding place on my car and the wire helps me to pull it out easily. When I run, I lock my real keys in the trunk and open the trunk with my magnet key when I get back.
I always try to buy shorts with a zipper pocket.
I use the pocket of this:
Amphipod Hydraform Handheld Thermal Lite
With my watch-
The most secure carrying method for my key is a double strength steel lockbox in which I place my key. The lockbox is blast/fire proof and ensures the security of my key. I carry the 40 pound lockbox during my run to avoid seperation. I do not feel as secure when pulling the lockbox on a wagon as the 3 foot seperation reduces the security of the key.
While this method does provide high key security it is not a very efficient way to run.
I have safety-pin attached to the keyring.
Single key on that ring.
My stomach. That way, I have no choice but to get in a long enough or hard enough run before I can drive home.
