Looking for a 2-3" inseam black split short that will hold 4-5 gels. Most shorts I have just have that one zipper pocket in the middle rear. Nike would be great, black preferred.
Thanks!

Cargo shorts with lots of pockets.
Do you have a link to these 2-3" inseam cargo shorts??? Would rock them
THIS is why they invented the fuel belt. Just Make sure it matches your shades, visor, compression socks, and ipod nano.
4 - 5 gels? What are you doing, Comrades?
Just get shorts that you like and sew pockets on them. Then you can put them where you want to.

Race ready stuff sucks. cant sew and dont have a sewing machine. the rest of you are idiots, thinking everyone is a hobby jogger.
You should be able to stash at least half a dozen gels right in front with your boys -- plenty of room, I'd expect.
Tried that already. Could fit a whole box and some more. felt goooood
I never use pockets for gels. Instead, I use safety pins to pin each gel to the outside of the waistband on my running shorts. Then I flip each gel to the inside of the waistband. That keeps the gels from flopping around while you run. When I'm ready to use a gel, I tear one off close to the pin. Be careful to pin the gel high enough on the tab to avoid having some gel squeeze out. The gels tear off pretty easily.
Tried pinning this morning and didnt like the feel. lasted about 2 minutes before I was annoyed with them.
Seriously, doing Vermont 100? Or chartering a fishing boat & going out on the ocean all day & don't have a cooler???

I've had 2 pairs of Race Ready shorts for 10 years with thousands of miles on them and 8 marathons.
You have no idea what you are talking about.
Lose some weight tubby, then your thighs won't rub together.
Get an iPod armband. Empty 5-6 Gu things into a plastic bag and tie it off with one of those green twisty things from the grocery store. Store bag in your armband. Whenever you need a Gu, take it out and suckle straight from the plastic teat that bore it.
Hammer nutrition sells some short shorts with pockets.
Brooks shorts. There are a variety. Side pockets can fit 2 each if you squeeze them in.

I second these brooks shorts. They have small little velcro pockets on each side. I fit 2 in each pocket no problem.
you running unsupported? or just very picky with your nutrition? shouldnt the race have some gu or gels at aid stations?
