This. He ran in Doha and got smoked. Hopefully for him it was just race rust.

He fell at Doha and got up to finish. That's why he "got smoked".
Kiprop obviously is in such excellent shape it's as if he never got hurt, but I didn't think the Letsrun guys gave enough credit to Kiplagat in their wrap-up of last week's Doha meet. Would he have beaten Kiprop if he hadn't been tripped? Probably not--but running 3.34 after getting tripped at the start of the last lap is pretty impressive in my mind. I'd keep a close eye on him in Shanghai.

3:34 is a very impressive opener, considering the stumble/fall cost him ~15m on the field.
