Who else was in the race? How far was second place behind him, crazy time if he wasn't pushed...
An interesting case... he ran 3:39 in 2005 when he was 20. Ran a 3:38 in 2008 and then nothing until now.

It seems unreasonable that someone who has hovered around 3:40 for his early and mid 20s should suddenly improve by over 8 Secs at the age of 27/28! Makes Ramzi look like a teen prodigy by comparison.
It has drugs written all over it, and it leaves a bad taste in the mouth when assessing any moroccan athlete, which is ashame, as there must be some clean ones.
And why anyone would want to be in 3:31 form in April is beyond me!? Surely he should expect to be in 3:27 form by August. How can Morocco keep producing these low 3:30 guys from nowhere?
I wonder if there was any video of the race?
Confirmed wind assisted on a short track. No drugs though.
Just blood sweat and tears and a high dose of monstrous injury free training.
Respect to brother Mazouze.

So when does he move to Portland to train with Salazar?
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say he wasn't actually being serious...

Yes, that's crazy. It's so obvious. Imagine a guy running the mile between 3:57 and 4:01 for 7 year+ and then all of a sudden, boom he runs a 3:50 mile... Oh wait...
Wow...what a break through performance! I've been stuck at 3:40 since 1998, so there's hope for me yet.

Funny, I agree. However, unless I've missed it, Mr. Mizouze does not have a silver medal in the 5000.

Neither does Mr. Rupp.

Funny about Rupp. Not sure about making drug allegations about this Moroccan man, I have never seen the guy. The PRs look interesting if true. I assume 1500 is his main event.
In reality, Rupp has made a steady progression with speed. he just had trouble breaking 4 in 2008 after years of focusing on distance. It was only when McDougal out-sprinted Rupp when AS started going for mile speed. He also got outkicked by Abdi at the trial. Rupp ran 3:52 equivalent in '12. He was great at the mile in his last year of college. He beat strong milers in tactical races.
Yes, and Rupp isn't a miler, so he doesn't run them often each year, whereas this Moroccan clearly is, and Rupp isn't 28. To make a dramatic improvement in your early 20's is expected, but not in late 20's.
late bloomers exist in track too!!!!
rashid ramzi pulled a similar stunt didn't he
lagat did something similar around 2000 if i recall
i often wondered about that-he dropped right down to 3-26 all of a sudden
and i don't think 3-26 is possible without drugs imo
that's if the data from this thing is accurate

Is there an injury history here? If not, it's easy to understand the suspicion.
