what is it, about 40 minutes of action in a 4 hour game?
just a bunch of fat, padded dorks bumping into each other...ridiculous if anything
Completely agree. But at least there is 20 or so minutes of excitement in that 4h. Unlike a soccer match, which is maybe 2 minutes of excitement.
You go to soccer games to watch the fights in the stands.

Actually, it's 11 minutes of action.
people who say soccer is boring are the following:
- those who were scared to head the ball as a child
- those who do not understand true teamwork at all (this isn't limited to individual athletes / basketball players)
- the impatient - good plays take 1-2 minutes to perform, not 5 seconds.
I can't think of anything
a 3:30+ Yankees/Red Sox game with 10+ pitching changes.
NASCAR

You're right. My bad. I must have included the 30 minutes of cheerleader action
You're not getting many responses because there are not too many things as boring as a soccer game.
Soccer could be tolerable if they would eliminate that ridiculous off-sides rule. It basically says that you cannot have a fast break. Could you imagine basketball without a fast break?
If they eliminate the off-sides rule, then you might get scores like 25-20 instead of "1-nil". Then it might not be so bad, certainly tolerable.

Disagree. Most people who find soccer boring feel that way for the simple fact that soccer is a low-scoring game. It's not outcome-oriented, but process-oriented. You can sit through an entire scoreless game only to have the whole thing end up 1-0. That's not very entertaining, even if you're on the winning side.
I suppose soccer fans enjoy watching the athleticism on display, of which there is a lot. But that's just not interesting to some people.
Soccer is one of the most exciting sports, its boring to watch sports where they score every few minutes. Suspense=Excitement.
Suspense is usually created when well-matched competitors face each other. Match-ups like this, when the scores are close, make you wonder what will happen next; THAT's suspense. Watching soccer makes you wonder when anything will happen at all. Many people obviously find this compelling, but those who don't like soccer, don't.

on beautiful girls and women.
Obviously you are no American..
we don't settle for a 1 - 0 score after two hours of activity
Wow! Nobody listed GOLF?!?! There is no sport more boring. Hell, I fell asleep PLAYING golf once. And my score didn't suffer at all.

This response makes even less sense than soccer's massive popularity.
