My everyday training shoes feel clunky & unresponsive (Saucony Guide 5's). I've been using the Mirage for tempos & I'm thinking of switching to these as my everyday shoe.
I'm concerned that I won't recover as well (more muscle fatigue etc) but the lighter shoes feel so much nicer to run in.
Any advice from those who use lightweight trainers as their regular shoes? Do you need to be a certain standard to make the switch? This is not about minimalism, I'm not going to train in flats.

"I'm not going to train in flats" Where is your cutoff? I'm pretty sure your cutoff is arbitrary. You should want to train in the shoe that helps you train hard and stay healthy. No matter what the shoe company calls the shoe.
If you are switching, I would suggest taking it slowly. Your body has to adapt to the new shoe. Take it slow and you will adjust. I want to know more about training shoes and I have been trying different styles. I really like doing everyday in the nike streak flat, but I am not doing much mileage these days, so it may not be a concern, but I would like to really know why.
I've still got a bump on the bottom of my foot rom training too much in flats
Save them for intervals/races or running on grass

You don't need to be any standard to make the switch. I've never been able to run in anything other than flats or very light shoes and I'm not at any standard worth mentioning. The real issue is what feels right and works for you.
There are all sorts of lightweight trainers around. I don't keep track of them all because I only train in flats. Off the top of my head, something like the Saucony Kinvara, Asics Speedstar or Gel Lyte 33 might work. And there are "flats" that have a fair amount of cushion. Staying with Asics, the DS Racer comes to mind as does the Nike Lunar Racer. On the other end of this, I've found some entry level shoes are simple, fairly light and not clunky as well as a lot cheaper. You're just going to need to head to the ole running shop and try some stuff on. But I might start looking at the Kinvara or Speedstar.
