She is entered in the 10000m and only the 10000m at the Stanford invite. What will happen? This is the point where I feel like the ponytail/braid will start hindering her racing. All that hair for all that distance...can only slow her down

I predict she'll run a mediocre race.
Nice comment. She tends to get the best out of herself and rarely bonks, so I don't expect that.

She'll win. Longer distances are her thing, not the mile.
I see the winner coming off of this list of names.
8 Ashley Brasovan Duke
28 Megan Goethals Washington
31 Kara Goucher NIKE
43 Risper Kimaiyo UTEP
46 Julie Macedo Florida
67 Kendra Schaaf New Mexico
Kara Goucher will lap them all. Hasay will cry for a few days. Someone needs to actually coach Hasay on her running form. Salazar could take a minute off her 5K time.

Which specific flaws are you commenting on?
Stiff arms held low and crossing over, hunched over upper body. Her form isnt great.
Altering her form, even when she becomes efficient at it (it will take time) would yield no where near a minute improvement (5000 or 10,000?).The hair weighs as much as the chains worn round necks. Both gold, vastly different densities.

Salazar had no luck changing Kara's stick up the butt form...
Hasay will do these ridiculous baby steps for about the first 2K of a 5k, just let her go already!!
Alexis Pappas is entered in the Steeplechase as Unattached.
Lisa Uhl in the 5000, too.
So many good races and no one has mentioned the awesome men's races. Expect to PAY to have to see it online... :(
I think she is capable of sub 32 minutes if the pace is honest. She was a 3200m runner in high school, I always thought she would be a 10k runner in college....just surprised it took this long.
Cain FTW
I think her best move is to transition to the marathon as soon as possible out of school. I just do not see her making an Olympic/WC team any time soon in the 1500/5000. She would have to get a sizeable PR just to get the A standard in the 1500/5000. Maybe she will try to get the A standard in the 10k to at least put herself in position to go to WCs. But she just hasn't dominated in college the way you would expect a future pro 1500/5000 runner to do in school. Why not just move up to the marathon and get some great appearance fees?

Not likely. Sounds nice, but is not likely at all. Really, a full minute? Laughable
I will go talk to her high school coach, who is my coach, today. Let's see what he thinks.

That doesn't mean she'll win. Pretty sure it's possible for a lapped runner to come back and win.
