The last 2 years I've had a few small injury issues (ITBS, PF, Achilles) and I'm looking at training shoe options. The owner of my local store has got to be on the payroll for Newton because that is all he recommends (He is a less is more kind of guy). I've tried Newtons per his recommendation and they left my Achilles sore after every run. I've also tried the Pure Flow and the Kinvara and haven't had major issues just little niggles (These are my current rotation).
My question is do you guys think a more substantial shoe would help solve some of my problems? More cushioning maybe? I'm open to any input. I just want to run pain free.
I've been running 40-50mpw, 5'10", 140lbs, mid-foot strike, neutral pronation. I'm just about to start base mileage build-up for marathon training as well.
Thanks.
