If I started sleeping in an altitude tent, how much time could I expect to drop in 6 months?
help a 14:40 runner? not enough to think about doing it.
None as there are 100's of people on this site that would sell you their used tent...raise your level of training instead of worrying about some gimmick...
Any differences performance wise in a middle distance race such as the 5k would probably be negligible. On the other hand, an 18 min runner may see more dramatic benefits overtime.
You will probably know whether or not it is actually doing anything for you if you get a blood test after those 6 months or if you notice a slight (yet probably negligible) improvement in aerobic support.
What I am saying is that although altitude tents are in fact possibly beneficial, the differences a 14:40 runner would see are much smaller than that of a slower runner. Again, not saying it wont work.
