Which is better for a not-so-elite runner who very slightly heel strikes but is for the most part a midfoot person running the mile on up? (2 mile, maybe a track 5k)

mambas for sure
The LD3's are my favorite ever spike. Perfect for mile and up -- probably not the best for 800, as the upper is rather floppy. I've never tried the mambas, so I can't compare, but I've run in vent +s, vent 2s, victories, milers, eldoret 2s, victory xcs, and a few others. LD3s are my go to shoe after that all. I've used them successfully 1500-10k
I would highly recommended the Mambas. They are a great spike and a lot more comfortable than the victories.
I love them both honestly, I don't think theres a wrong choice.
Used my mamba 2s for about 2 years then they gor beat up and i switched to the LD3s this season and I like them a lot.

Bump- still looking for more answers
I've done 1000s on the track in LD3s the last four weeks and they've been amazing. They're incredibly light. I'd be reluctant to use them for long tempo intervals or a 10k. But for a 3200 or 5k I think they'd be great.
LD3's are amazing. END OF THREAD
I have the LD3's and love them. Comfortable, but the lightest spike on the market i believe. Nikes didn't fit well for me at all.
