Not much there; what's the big deal; yawn!!
She joined the Oregon Project in 05-06?
And she stayed until 2010?
And Nike dropped her after the accident?
Thats what the article implies, but I thought she left years before being hit by a car, right?
Wow, there is a lot that we don't know about Alberto and its the positive stuff we are missing. I always assumed that Caitlin would be the one OP runner with a legitimate axe to grind against Alberto, but nothing could be further from the truth.

That is a huge cop-out. A professional running coach absolutely should know how to counsel a runner with an eating disorder because of its high prevalence. Being a coach means much more than writing training plans. And for such a young and committed athlete, the coach MUST do all they can to facilitate the athlete's health because maintaining health directly determines long term success.
I think this shows what a fantastic guy Alberto really is.

Caitlin is a very special person. Her talents run deep. She still loves running and respects the sport. She is grateful she can run and for the opportunities and support given her over the years,
This girl had golden opportunities one after another. College, pro, contracts. Didn't she run 15:50 as a high school runner? She could have been the female Rupp.

It was nice to read this interesting interview.
Good for Caitlin for speaking up about her positive experience with Alberto.
I'm glad she has recovered from the tragedy of getting hit by the car and is still able to run.
Caitlin had eating issues since high school. It's why she didn't finish running withe her team in HS. It's why she went to a school like Richmond. And it's why Richmond didn't work. Alberto took a good stab at helping her out but it just didn't work.
I think she quietly left professional running a few years ago but hung around Portland until the accident.
I see Caitlin's writing from time to and she seems content with how things turned out and doesn't seem like the type of person to bash Alberto, or anyone, about what has happened in the past.
I was looking for more insight from the article myself but I think you'd get more dirt from Kara Goicher or Amy Yoder Begley.
"Reveals all"?
Did you read the same article I did?
Any good writer with a rudimentary knowledge of running, given one hour on the internet to research Chock and Salazar, could have written this.
What 'revelations' are in here?
This reveals more about Chock than about Salazar.
In spite of all the setbacks in her running, she has turned out to be a beautiful person. And that's more important in the big scheme of things.
The interview was rather milk-toast and a yawner. True. It is nice that she put Salazar in such a nice light but very little insight or anything new besides the car accident.
But well before the accident she wasn't exactly wowing people with her times.
Who?
Last night there were several posts in this thread calling into question the Brojo's use of the word "bombed" to describe Caitlin's career after high school. Now those posts are gone and "bombed" has been replaced by "disappointed." Slick, slick...
This was a fluff article. Nothing more.

Classic. This is almost as good as "pre-madonna"

I think "pre-madonna" beats this one. But, yes it is classic.

Yes silly boys this is what he meant.
Milk toast's soft blandness served as inspiration for the name of the timid and ineffectual comic strip character Caspar Milquetoast
Meaning it was a bland interview. To spell it out for the ill-informed who think that they are not. . .
