So my right leg has been becoming weak and somewhat non-responsive the past month when I try to run anything faster than 5:40 pace (especially on the treadmill). I have read the "loss of coordination" thread before and find it unhelpful so don't refer me to it.
I believe that this is a nerve problem of some kind but it has been difficult to figure the exact cause. I have three ideas:
1) nerve compression by the piriformis or gluteal muscles (they are painful and tight on my right side)
2) Gluteal compartment syndrome (it only causes me problems when I'm running fast)
3) L4-L5-S1 vertebral instability (whenever I stand up I can feel this shift or click in my lower spine but I do not have any shooting pain to my foot or loss of sensation).
I have stopped running because I have also noticed very slight tingling and muscle twitching in my right calf and foot after I tried to use the foam roller on my glutes last week. Also after I used the roller, when I touch my toes or sit in a chair this tingling increases in my right foot.
What of the three is the most probable and how do I fix it? What exercises could I do to stabilize my lower lumbar spine? Any help would be appreciated!
