Just got an email about the Saucony Virrata from Running Warehouse. Anyone run in them yet? Looks kinda like a zero drop version of the Brooks PureFlow which sounds pretty awesome to me.

No one? No Kinvara/A5 fans gonna give them a try?
no, sole is too thick.
I tried it on at my lrs and it was ok.

This review is basically how I felt about it. Easy to run in but nothing stood out. I run in the Adios 2 and the Virratas didn't feel as nearly responsive.
Note: The guy at the running store thought they were called the "Frittatas"
It's a Kinvara with a zero mm drop.
I am going to try them now that the hyperspeeds look like halloween/are getting discontinued. The sole looks really big from a side on picture, but it's listed at 17mm toe/heel whereas the Hyper is 15/21 toe/heel. Both approximately the same weight too.

More flexible than a kinvara and lighter too
Hi all,
Anyone run the Virratas with experience in either Adizero Rockets or Asics Piranha SP3 to compare them to?
I have been looking to go zero drop for years, but in my size 13, local shops never have anything useful. Almost ordered Kinvaras, but decided against it, fearing them too soft and especially needlessly bulky in the back, as I have now mastered midfoot strike running.
My running budget is minute. My Rockets (2 pairs alternating) are wearing out too much to be run on wet track. Just did a 33" 200m and was sliding all over the place.
With winter coming up, my new shoes will also see some mild gravel work while hill training.
My Piranha's are the go-to race shoes but utterly useless on the track as I can't sprint in them, too flimsy. Rockets are awesomely solid, until they wear out. And since I CAN compete in the lighter Piranha's, Rockets are just training shoes. Great for solo jogs also.
Thanks for any thoughts!
