Nathan Sports was marketing the Vitaband, a rubberized wrist band with your personal emergency information on it as well as a small proximity chip that could be used to store cash value and used for purchases at retailers who had proximity readers for MasterCard Paypass and the like.

Yesterday, I received an email from Nathan Sports saying that they (or their bank) were getting out of the proximity payment service and from now on the wristband would only be useful for ID. One has to subscribe yearly for the ID service after the first year. My wristband was cut up and went in the trash.
