I was expecting some faster times from the hype.
Anyone have details for the slow times?

Scott Wietecha with a strong performance for the conditions, running 2:19 for second American. Posts here as blaznbison...
Sorry, just under 2:19 for Scott.
watching the webcast it was pouring hard rain for at least the 1st half of the race. Also temps were cold and there was a pretty hefty wind at points on the course.
the girls ran good the winner in the marathon is only 20.

hell yeah scott!a great guy and poster boy for the success consistent training
From what I read there were extremely hard rains, hail at times and up to 20 mph winds. Not the conditions to even approach a fast time.
sounds cold and nasty. the cold weather probably made the concrete even harder than normal.

Guess you didn't see the headline of "Windy, Rainy Forecast Looms Over Houston Marathon But Cancellation Isn't A Possibility" on the front page?

oops, no. It was hard to see much more than the amazing Mary Cain on the front
Ran it. It was awful out there. Rain at the beginning froze everyone then strong north winds for about 90 min.
Meanwhile, the women didn't wimp out. Says something about how much mentally tougher women are, or maybe they focused on competing and pushing themselves, rather than obsessing about splits.
Half marathon recap is now up:

The women had rabbits! How unfair to the men!
I watched the webcast, which was pretty lousy, other than that there were independent cameras for each race's leaders. The top two women had their own pacers, who ran IN FRONT OF THEM for about 26.1 miles, so they didn't have to face the winds at all. The winning guy broke from the pack when the rain began (AGAIN!) at about 1/2 way, so it's no wonder he ran "slowly" but it was gutsy.

And the men didn't? Did Joe Moore not rabbit?

^ Quote of the day.
Real nasty out there, even the guys in the half ran slow. I wouldn't take too much from it.
