I was given some running shoes as a gift. Turns out they are made for overpronators and I am neutral. Can I use them or will they increase chance of injury?
Thanks

It won't hurt us. Go for it.
You can use them and they will cause injury.
Might not be the greatest question but please don't answer if you don't have anything constructive to say.
Return/exchange if you can. Even if it doesn't cause an injury (no neutral runner is going to survive a Brooks Beast or equivalent for long), they can still make your runs pretty damn uncomfortable.
Is your running health worth the cost of a pair of correct shoes?
I said they'd cause you injuries if you use them. That's constructive and accurate.
Many neutral runners have high arches, and if you do, these shoes can really be a problem.
People with high arches already have trouble pushing off over their big toe when going less than full speed. Overpronation shoes make this even harder. This changes your gait and can lead to big problems.
I think it's becoming increasingly apparent that support shoes are of doubtful benefit even for so-called overpronators. I wouldn't wear them if I were you. I think they will probably affect your natural biomechanics, even if only slightly, so why risk it unless you have to? I used to wear support shoes but have transitioned to neutral shoes, for what it's worth.

FWIW, I had some tendonitis that cleared up when I switched from a mild overpronation shoe to a neutral shoe so I wouldn't risk it either.
Thank you all for your feedback. I will go ahead and exchange them.
