Can you still get in a decent/quality 60-70mpw with such a work schedule?
Can you still get in a decent/quality 60-70mpw with such a work schedule?
Do you have an hour a day?
Yes?
Then yes.
I've worked that much and more and still got in 70-80mpw. There will be virtually no time for anything else though.
55 hours per week working, 56 hours per week sleeping, that leaves 57 hours for running. Even turtles can do 70 miles in 57 hours.
In my experience, it's impossible to maintain more than 2 of the following activities simultaneously for any length of time:
-Full time job
-Serious running
-Social life
-Adequate sleep
Did it for years.
The secret is to run to work and back.
How terrible is your time management?

I've found this line of thinking to be true, though I was able to maintain adequate sleep. Social life? hell no. This is why I was single and never even had any hook ups my first two years of college. I got better at time management after that and was able to balance things a bit better, but even so, excluding adequate sleep from the list of things in life, I've found I can only focus hard and seriously on two things, be that work, social life, running, etc. This is not to say I can't do all of the above, just that at after the first two the others will suffer.
To make working and running a lot work, you have to analyze your day and look at all the areas in which you're wasting time. Hitting the snooze? Wasting time. Taking 15 minute showers? Wasting time. Taking hour long lunch breaks? Wasting time. etc.
Alberto Salazaar can.
Seriously?
I log an average of 80 during tax season at a public accounting firm. It really isn't that difficult if you have the desire.

This assumes that you sleep at your place of employment, eat while on the job, don't shower or get dressed, etc.
Moreover, that mythical 57 hours of free time isn't likely to be evenly distributed over 7 days. IF the OP wants to run for 8 hours on Saturday and Sunday, that might be possible.
The "real" trick is trying to log 60-70 miles (along with all the ancillary work necessary to sustain that type of mileage) across 7 days of week. For me, the weekdays are really, really tough. I have 3-4 hours of free time M-F. Spending 35-50% of it logging ten miles is a struggle.
I did that for a couple of years, it's possible to do the running: but recovery was compromised so the training was not effective. If you're happy doing only work, running, and sleeping, it might be possible.
It's possible for sure, but forget about a social life. Even if you have time, you'll be tired and won't be any fun anyway.
