I am considering buying a GPS watch. Any opinions for an inexpensive, but not cheap, watch? Pros and cons? Thanks.

You can still nab a garmin 205 for a little over $100. i've had mine for over 3 years and it's ideal.
Still my favorite Garmin:
and really, $199 is pretty cheap for a watch you plan to use for years. For some reason, the 210 is the watch they chose to really nail it on.
I second that. The Garmin Forerunner 210 is the best GPS watch I've seen. I've had it for about 2 years now and it's been great. It's easy to use and it looks and feels like a regular watch. I don't feel like I'm running with an Ipod on my wrist the way I do with some of the other options.
Motorola Motoactv is pretty sweet. Has wifi for automatic syncing when you get home. Color screen which is cool but not necessary. Also it can play music and sync to bluetooth headphones (either on your run or just during the day). Battery life isn't as good as the Garmins. You'll like have to charge it every 2-3 days. And they aren't as weather proof. I've used mine in pouring rain for an hour run and it didn't bother it.
Nike will have one soon this year.
There are many other cheaper brands apart from garmin, perhaps look into them e.g. soleus
How often would the Forerunner 210 need charged, if one was running about 90 minutes per day, and using the HR monitor for every run?
I just purchased the Soleus for $79 on Amazon. Works really well for what it does. Only complaint is that it does take up to 5min to find the signal sometimes.

I've had my 210 for over two years now and really like it. I simply hook it up to the computor when I finish a run (so I can down load info)and leave it hooked up until my next run. It never runs down.

I would assume maybe twice a week. This is an estimate because 1) I forget to shut my down between runs, and 2) I haven't been running every day and can't remember how often I charged it when I was. But I know it'll get you through at least three runs. I tend to be overly concerned with charging because I've had the battery die on me during runs. Now I have a charger at home and one at work (which I can move to my car since it's USB).
Anyhow, I love my 210! I though it would make me even more anal about distance/time, and it has. But at least now I know I'm not short-changing myself. I used to do training runs at ~6:30 to 7:00 pace (I think, didn't have GPS then). Now I'm more 7:15 to 7:30+ (like I said, not running daily and no longer in my prime), and the watch keeps me honest.
Check Craigslist. I got mine for $140 brand-new off some dude who got it as a gift. Have had no problems with it aside from a bit of condensation showing up on the inside as of late. (Anyone know what to do about that?)
has lots of in-depth reviews.
I've had a 305 for years that I like, but I've borrowed the 210 and it's quite nice. It acquires satellites faster than the 305, it gives the same results on my regular routes (within hundredths), and it really is a watch-sized watch.
I had the 305, 310XT, and now the 210. The first two are great, but clunky. I love the 210. Lighter, less clunky, and gives me the three things I want (distance, time, downloaded capable). A plus - it works with the Tanita ANT+ scale.
