What is more of a bang for the buck for an 1600-3200m runner? (will also run the 4x800) Matumbos 2 for $120 or Victory Elites for $180?

The victory Elites weigh more than the matumbo's and og vics. They're a complete waste of money. If you want victories, buy the v1 on clearance for $30 somewhere.

Weight isn't everything. The actual weight differences are really not that great, and the changes they made to the shoe actually will give even better performance boosts than the old vics. Honestly I would go for the Victory 2's they are very similar to the victory elite except they don't have the entire mid foot shank of carbon fiber, and they are only $120.
The elites are amazing spikes, but I don't think they are worth the extra $60. Matumbo 2's or the Vic 2's would be your best bet
Matumbo 2's if you plan on racing mostly over 3200 meters.
Vic 2's for everything 3200 and under.
