Are the top ultra runners in the world on salaried shoe contracts, or salary with other companies? Or are they just getting shoes/gear/travel/small bonuses like most elites in the shorter events?

Yeah, that sounds like a troll attempt.
Your thread was a troll attempt moron

No it's not. I'm being serious.
Both you 1diots are trolling. Ultra runners are more broke than elite road runners. Some guys like Dean Karnazes and Scott Jurek have made money, but they found other ways to do it via self-promotion, outside of prize money for winning races. If you are thinking about trying to make ultra-running a career, you are strongly encouraged to keep a day job and train your butt off around that.
Bud, I'm definitely not trolling. Legitimate question.
Scott Krupicka - New Balance
Anton Jurek - Brooks

That doesn't mean anything. Lots and lots of elites at shorter distances with just shoes/gear. And I believe Scott Jurek is an actual employee at Brooks.
So anyone know for certain if any elite ultra runners are on salary?
Sage Canaday is sponsored by his parents.
No.
Scott Jurek is more likely on celery than salary
Anton Kupricka makes decent money with NB on top of getting free gear. Fact!
They used Anton to start up the Minumus shoe line, which has been pretty successful
Anton has also been a college student for a decade so he probably also gets a lot of grants that cover food and rent.
I know of a west coast company that pays a 100K guy $40k/year.

If 5K a year is decent money to you, then you are right. Fact!

Please stop. I'm not trolling. It's an honest question. If anyone knows for certain, speak up.
