Have you ever given money to your alma mater?

Yes I have...its called the $21,000 in tuition.
I can't stand when people call me from my Old University asking for more of my money.
Does buying basketball tickets every couple years count?
Yes, I have. But it irritates me how many times I receive something in the mail from them asking for a donation. Sometimes even a month after I just donated. It feels like they "expect" me to donate. That attitude turns me off so I haven't donated in a while.
i went to a state school. so, no. and never will. one time they called asking for money and i was unemployed at the time. i felt bad for what i said after i hung up, but then again, it was their fault they equipped me with such excellent skills in arguing my point.

If you said it after you hung up, you are really bad at arguing your point.
touche. you must have gone to a private school with such an excellent wit!
I write four checks a year -- to my college, my wife's college, and to both of my children's colleges. We were all on need-based or merit scholarships and I'm helping others following in our footsteps.
U must be a democrat?
Yes, I have. I received a full scholarship to a Big Ten school.
I received a call about 6 months after graduation about a donation. I didn't have a lot of money at the time, but I gave them $500. My parents even donated $2K. Over the last decade I have probably donated about $5K which is a small amount.
The school gave me so much, so giving back a little is no problem.
Based on your writing skills I have to agree that you probably shouldn't donate.
No. They cut the men's track and xc program.

I'm set up on an autopay every month. Not a huge sum, but an expression of my gratitude. My alma mater paid for most of my four years, and all of my grad school. I'm the first kid in my family to graduate from college and I appreciate the opportunity they gave me.

Yes, but only about $50 or $100 when a student calls and asks. I still owe loans, so it seems crazy to donate when I haven't yet paid off my tuition.
NO.
I left on really bad terms, so much so that I really don't like running or runners at all. If you're reading this then I probably don't like you either.
No. I paid my own way, my department no longer exists and the current coaches have consistently done a crappy job for the last umpteen years and don't seem to care if they ever compete at the conference level let alone qualify anyone for nationals. Poor management doesn't deserve free money to waste however they like.
Nope, and also never will. They raised tuition 12% every year I attended and millions of student tuition money went into profitless football program, while cutting back heavily on academic services. I would send money to the departments I studied under, but the school doesn't allow it.
They called me a month after graduating asking me how post college life was going for about 10 minutes only to quickly ask when I wanted to start a $75 a month donation plan. Turned my phone off right there.
My former university also has a ridiculously low endowment compared to other state schools, even though it is one of the oldest schools in the country and has close to 300,000 living alumni. So I'm not the only one.
I have for the same reason that others have listed. I was on a scholarship paid for by alumni. Doesn't seem right not to pay into the pot myself.
No. I probably never will donate to a general university, but I will to my particular school in the university. They called me within a year of my graduation and sent me stuff in the mail. Ever since I changed my email address, I haven't heard anything. Good.
The thing I hate about my universities, like anybody trying to sell you something, is that they are concerned about image and reputation above all else. If the university put the student experience and quality education as priority #1, I would feel a little less bitter towards them. But they don't
