I driver slower to burn less fuel. I also use green light bulbs.

Those green light bulbs would be weird. I do not want everything looking green.
I do nothing differently since I do not think man contributes enough to any warming to matter. The planet warms, the planet cools. Been doing it for a couple of billion years.
I do things to save me money like turning off lights and adjusting the thermostat, but more for my own savings.

^^^This. If more people would just admit that we are powerless to change the environment for the better or for the worse, we would humble ourselves before the One who does have that power.
You're not being very green.

Of course....God would never harm the planet.
Tell that to the dinosaurs 65mm years ago, if you believe the earth is that old.
Then again there is the pesky matter of 98% of all scientists who say otherwise...but what the heck do they know?! And who cares what the body of evidence says! Look at evolution - more than enough evidence to confirm it as fact, but we all know it is just a theory!
What to do:
LED lights
Public transportation and car sharing Zipcar & Car2Go
Buy 2nd hand whenever possible.
Eliminate animal protein whenever possible.
Walk/Bike rather than drive
Migrate to screen based reading
A number of things that can dramatically reduce consumption and footprint.
After suffering through several prolonged power outages (including 9 days from the derecho this past summer) in the past 2 years I've done some preparation. The frequent violent storms caused by climate change combined with lack of infrastructure maintenance has convinced me these situations will be commonplace going forward. I've invested in a 5500 watt generator and stock enough gasoline food and water for at least a couple of weeks. Not major disaster prepping but I can weather the small stuff.
We did not get the worst of Sandy but I would have been prepared.

Climate change thread turns to literal religious argument in a mere three posts. That has to be a record.
While, by American standards, I tend to be very energy, I also recognize that there is no individual solution to a global phenomena. I don't see the incentives being there for either the American or world society to do anything of the magnitude necessary to reduce CO2 outputs to pre-industrial levels in the near term. Thus we're left with either attempting to mitigate consequences in advance or dealing with them as they arise. Pragmatically, it will probably be more of the latter and less of the former.
You are very energy? Sweet.
Should have been:
While, by American standards, I tend to be very energy conscious, . . .
I've convinced my wife to put out every night to keep us warm. That way we can save on our heating bill.
Post-Nuptial Shutoff meet Global Warming.
I use the air conditioners more often.
I drive more when the weather is cold. I'm not sure if it helps, but it can't hurt.

I would like to offer a counter point to this small bit of ignorance about the human impact on their immediate environment. Your statement is so wrong, it's not even funny to me. I don't care if you are a troll or not.
Let me start with my immediate environment. In my state, we have many animal farms and large cities that dump raw sewage into the waterways during heavy rains. Raw dumping of sewage results in an excess of nutrients in the water, which can cause rapid algae growth, which can consume all the oxygen in the water, which can lead the death of many fish in the waterways. Also, the water is not same to drink for humans without proper treatment. Many smaller waterways were safe for human consumption before we built theses animal farms and large cities and cut down all the forests. Animal and plant diversity harmed, human life affected.
Here's a smaller example. Last summer, my city had the hottest months in it's recorded history. With many days getting into the 90's, the downstairs of my house never went above 85 degrees even on the hottest days. Why? Because my house was shaded by trees. The trees created a micro climate that kept the house cooler during the hot summer months. We didn't run the air conditioner for more than a month. However, my roommate's upstairs bedroom was significantly hotter than the downstairs, and often was hotter than the outdoors. The shade from the trees did not extend to the roof, so the upstairs got the full impact from the hot weather. If we had not trees around our house, the upstairs and downstairs would have been very hot during the whole summer.
Now the question of whether we are making the environment better or worse. Nature doesn't care what we do. It will respond to the impacts, and the response of the plants and animals have no instrinsic value of right or wrong, good or bad. But we can have an impact on the environment that make our lives better or worse, safer or less secure. We can do things that endanger our water supply, and that makes things worse in my opinion. WE HAVE THE POWER TO IMPROVE THE CONDITIONS OF THE ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR BENEFIT, or make it worse.
Ignorant people like you make me want to live off the grid more and more.

I like ignorant people. They make me feel not quite so dumb in comparison.

Good point. My c0ncepti0n of my intelligence certainly is inflated when I spend too much time around my family and workmates.

^^^^^ Nonsensical posts like this make me think we are truly living in Medieval times. It's Monty Python and the Holy Global Warming.
My contribution is to try to talk ignorant people who believe in Man Made Global Warming to live "off the grid." I haven't succeeded yet. But I'm still trying. I'll not give up. There are just so many people I see at the mall with "green" bumper stickers on the automobiles. They usually just ignore me while they load their bags into their Prius/Lexus Hybrid/Element. Oh well, there is hope. Just think - if all the people who believe in MMGW would live "off the grid" the problem would be solved!!!
