Anything shocking happen?
I was going to say the Villanova women not making it but they got in 2nd to last.
Anyone got any anything?

Joe Bosshard not running for CU.....I thought he would be ready for Regionals
increasing domination by african born individuals
Arkansas men didn't field a full squad. What's up with that? Is that powerhouse gone?

I just scanned through the results looking at the top 3 from each region.
Out of 27 athletes that had a top 3 finish in their region only 10 (TEN!) were American.
South Central was the only region with no American in the top 3.
Lelei - Kenya
Rooney - Ireland
Campbell - Jamaica
Other regions had a couple more Irish, a few Brits, a Czech & an Australian. And of course the other Africans.
Travis Mahoney was the only male US born runner to win a regional.

Bosshard had a second hip surgery within the last month. His running career may be in jeopardy!
Are you still coaching at Cornell?
Terefe Ejigu of Eastern Michigan was a DNF at the Great Lakes Regional. Was in the top 5 through 8k. He had gotten 3rd at Pre-Nationals.
Dude needs to ease off on Emma

Why ease off when he's got half the US Olympic swim team to compete with?
Parker Stinson getting beat by both Rosa twins
BYU women go from one of the most dominant teams in history to getting 7th this year in a soft Mt Region.... ouch!
Still an Improvement from last year, they only sent one to nats last year, this year they got the auto!
Laura Hollander losing. After reading JK's form sheet I thought she was the real deal.
Cornell taking third in the NE region. All I heard was people say they were a lock to win it. Guess not. I don't know I thought it was shocking based on how they've been racing.
Did Joe really have another hip surgery???? I know he had his 1st hip surgery last year maybe around March for a hip cartilage tear. And he only started running again maybe like 2 months ago. If this is true he seriously needs to consider retirement. The good news if he did retire he would retire with several all american honors. Its a bummer if this is true.
He just had the other hip done. Both were an issue but they wanted to and see if he could run cross. Didn't work out unfortunately.
Retire? ,
If its the other hip thats not as bad. I assumed it was the same one. Still though you wonder about how durable his hips/body are in general to sustain really high level training/racing
Terefe Ejigu, Jeremy Rae.
To a lesser extent Christopher Johnson, Alfredo Santana, Audrey Huth.
