Reading through the Post's usual negativity, you can tell that the generators weren't actually needed.
Thanks to all those runners who felt that it was so important to get that run in on Sunday morning instead of helping out.

A lot of people in NYC did things other than "help out" on Sunday morning. Why no similar rage for all of the people who spent the morning sitting in a church pew instead of helping out?
Those damn runners are at it again, stealing from people without food and power.

Good point. I hope every single person in the USA has quit their jobs, stopped all hobbies, eaten nothing but a few sips of water and stale bread for the last week and is helping 20 hours a day to solve this hurricane situation. Until every single person is made entirely whole from this disaster, nothing else may occur in America.
“And no hot food! Just sandwiches. Since last week we ain’t got s--t. Some medicine, but that’s about it.”
Poor baby. Someone bring this fine citizen a piping hot bowl of beef stew!
That's whole thing turned into a colossal cluster f%ck.
You really have to fear for America's future based on the stupidity of many of the comments in that Post article.
One of many classic examples:
"They should blame Bloomberg who obviously was aware of either who owned the generators and the food and water, or who was in charge in his government of coordinating with those who knew. Having canceled the race, he walked away and did not try to commandeer those supplies or get them purchased for his city. Bad leadership. Liberal nanny leadership. Giuliani took care of his job. Stop voting for Democrats."
If this quote doesn't describe the majority of Republicans in a nutshell, I don't know what does. She refers to Bloomberg's government as "liberal nanny leadership", yet admonishes him for GOVERNMENT not being more involved in the relief effort. This has to be one of the most hypocritical things I've ever read. She goes on in other posts to say things like: "that's what you get for electing a liberal politician", when Bloomberg ran for office as a Republican. I guess the truth for her is whatever is convenient for her own partisan politics. Idiots like her shouldn't be allowed to vote.
The majority of the comments in the New York Post make letsrun look like Mensa.

At least people sitting in church pews weren't hindering workers during the relief effort.
Let me help you out a bit here, beavis. Not only were runners in Central Park not helping out, they were hindering others who were helping out. Got it?

How did they hinder others who were helping out? Or is it just your imagination?
Did you even read the article?
Seriously f$&k ny. Bunch of whiny little pricks. These people do nothing but complain. Sorry to let you in on this secret the world doesn't revolve around NYC. Hopefully the next hurricane wipes it off he map.

Can you be a bit more specific. How were they hindering others who were helping out? Aside from the damage to Extell's crane on 57th, the storm had very little impact on the area around CP. If CP was necessary as a staging area, they could have kept it closed instead of reopening it Sunday morning. So people are just supposed to know that the park is open, but they're not supposed to use it?
And the whole idea that they couldn't move the generators because of the runners is preposterous. NYC cops know how to take charge of a situation. They shut down streets that carry thousands of cars per hour. They evacuate 40 story buildings when necessary. Suddenly they've turned into wilting violets who can't tell some runners that they'll need to move for a minute?

Do you really know where the storm hit and where in NYC the damage from the storm was?

Bloomberg was a lifelong Democrat until he ran for mayor. He ran as a Republican so he wouldn't have to be in a huge primary. He never really was a Republican, just in name for a while. He no longer calls himself a Republican at all.
So perhaps you're the one being hypocritical.

So not only can't you read, you can't comprehend either.
Would be much more helpful for someone to run a marathon in the park in the morning and write a $10K check in the afternoon than it would be for someone to carry a loaf of bread or some bottled water to Staten Island thinking that they are helping.
