Be safe, runners!
Oh man, that is really actually kind of scary. What is NYRR going to do to ensure safety?
Well here's a word from an overseas runner, whose flight got cancelled (I won't run). I was thinking of donating to help the newyorkers, but after seeing this I probably won't. Sad.
Oh cry me a river as you tweet from your iPhone that you don't have power. Whiny little b!tches. You can walk to throw things at people but not to get food or water from a area that's not affected? There are plenty I was down there yesterday. Worthless useless leeches too bad they didn't get killed in the storm.
People can be so stupid sometimes. This isn't going to solve anything.
40,000+ runners and security personnel versus 500 miscreants...wow, i bet the runners are so terrified
Ignorant, bottom of the barrel people. Wait 'till you get the running bug then pop off.
I had some guy yell obscenities about the NYCM today on my mid-morning run.
I live in Atlanta.
This could cause big problems.
I'm in ct now and overheard two people saying that they (nyc residents) should shoot the runners during the race.

It's always the same. The leftists stir up hatred against something and when the inevitable violence happens they fervently wash their hands.
Everything is not a left or right, Dem v GOP issue. You can't nationalize every issue. This was a very bad storm. Nothing to do with Dems liberals or conservatives.
no one is going to do a damn thing. its all your standard people on twitter pretending to be relevant. same people that will be drinking saturday night and sleep through the marathon anyways
How many of you think there will actually be water at the water stations after the neighborhood sees it?
Henri,
If you would like, donate to Nourishing USA. We're trying to get supplies together for Thanksgiving for impoverished families who have been hit hard by the storm. We've secured funding for children, but getting things for adults it much more difficult.
If you don't want to donate to us, that's ok too, if you do donate make sure it's someone on the ground with low overhead.

I cannot believe that you would donate food to fat Americans when there are starving children in Africa.

Believe it baby! There is a difference between hunger and malnourishment. In the USA we have more of the later. Africa has more of the former. Being "in the biz" I'll be the first to admit that the 1 in 6 stats that Feeding America pumps out is a stretch to say the least. That's why we teach healthy culinary habits and provide nutritious foods--I know turkey is not the perfect protein, but the symbolism for the holidays is quite great.
FOX news just had a huge talking heads bit about how horrible Marathon runners are for coming to NY. They are demanding that the Mayor put his foot down and cancel the race. They are saying that the hotels are not going to have any rooms available because all the hurricane victims have claimed them. If I was not sitting in a public place I would have shut the TV off.
If there's no harassment against NYCM runners on Sunday I'll donate 100$ to some NY relief fund. I promise.

Like the Foxies care about storm victims in blue states. Their only intent is to smear Bloomberg now that he has endorsed Obama.
What a bunch of jerks
now that makes sense as to why they'd come down hard on holding the marathon, since they have no opinion about the nba and nfl holding games drawing tens of thousands.
