I was going to buy the Timex Marathon GPS watch, mainly for running. I'm starting to cycle more now, and I'm wondering if it will provide accurate distance and pace readings while I'm on the bike. Thoughts?

Was cycling with the Garmin 305 (?) before. Three thoughts:
1. Make sure you can switch from min/mile to miles/hour
2. Current speed (pace) is a bit delayed with GPS, you won't see any changes with a quick burst as you would with a cycling computer.
3. Altitude was not always displayed correctly (delays/bumps)
I'm not familiar with the Timex, but not all GPS watches have a cycling mode where you can display pace in miles/hour in addition to the minutes/mile typically favored by runners. The Nike GPS watch I had didn't have this feature.
Even a cheap cycling computer will do this with less hassle and for a bit more you can get one which will measure cadence as well.
Best reviews out there.
