I'm running The Columbus Marathon on October 21. In 5ks to half marathons I've run in very light weight trainers (Sauconys) that resemble racing flats. I don't know if I should even consider them for the 26.2 and if I don't, how "fresh" a pair of shoes should be to withstand the pounding of 26.2 miles.
I run in orthotics about every other day, and rotate between a pair of asics gel 1160s and asics gel-equation 4s (both are about 1 month old). I'm a 34 year old female, I am between 127-130lbs at 5'10" and am shooting for a marathon time of 3:10 or below (hopefully below 3:05). Do I need something newer before the race? What is recommended? Thanks for your input!
