If nike is much a bad brand, how do all the pros and most top colleges run in their trainers without getting hurt? Has there ever been a case where a kid wore a asics or brooks shoe in college that was sponsored by nike?

I personally don't understand how/why Nike got such a bad name recently. I've run in the Vomero 5's and I'm currently running in the Pegasus 28's and I love them. Any Nike haters are just ig'nant
I own a running store, and I get this alot. I think its because people go to athletes foot, dicks, etc. and pick up a pair of frees, or some variation of lunars. Inevitably, they get hurt wearing these shoes, so they suspect all nikes are bad. The running specialty shoes are nice, but the ones that are bad are in EVERY sporting good store.
I trained 600 miles in a pair of very basic/generic Nike Dual Fusions. They were very comfortable and held up great. No problems. They're still good to run in but I purchased some wave riders to train in now
Not discussing how they look, Nike shoes are fine. I just don't like the lasts. They too nawwo and gave muh feet weawwy bad bwithterth.

Believe it or not, everyone has a different foot. What feels good for you is not going to feel good to every individual, like-was what feels good to someone isnt going to be the best feeling for the next person in line. Especially if youre a heavy pronator and you go to a sporting goods store and buy a nike free or any other neutral shoe. That is going to cause problems.
Though anyone who runs in the Nike Structure Triax is gunna hate the new model.

Crap...I've been through about 30 pairs of Triax over the last 5 years. I get about 800 miles out of a pair.

I've been wearing the Lunarglide 4 and it's a sweet running shoe, not a fashion shoe. Just saying.
Clearly you don't realize that "lunar" is a whole line of shoes, not just one Lunarglide.

I do realize that.
I'm saying that some of the "lunar" shoes are also good shoes for serious runners, not just fashion shoes that are liable to get you injured, which is what the previous poster was suggesting.
And to add to the confusion... I LOVE the Lunar Vengeance, which I believe was designed to be a fashion shoe.
SO the lunarfly, lunarbase, the lunarflem, and the lunar forever are great shoes huh?

I haven't worn the current one but the earlier version of the Lunarfly was a nice simple lightweight trainer. "Lunar" is obviously partly a marketing gimmick so you have to figure out which ones are decent for serious running and which ones are not, which is true of all the shoe brands.
