1984 Summer Olympics Los Angeles made a profit of over 1 Billion Dollars (in 2012 terms). How much will 2012 London make in profits ?

They will barely break even, if the weather improves. The EU will collapse as a result...
The English enjoy buggery thus the tourist market will never die for them. Oh wait, L.A. is Buggery Ville too.
The UK is not part of the EU.

Yes it is. It just doesn't use the Euro as its currency.
The LA84 organizers alone made $1B. Hollywood licensed the live broadcast feeds signing hundreds of channels worldwide for the 1st time in history and raked in another $1B in local profits. Add construction, hotel, air lines, marijuana dealers, night spots, T-shirts, hookers, taxi cabs, gay bars, etc. and that's another $1B. All told, L.A. made a fortune on the 84 games.
NBC will be posting videos on their website. Hollywood FTW!
Yes but let's not forget that LA did it on the cheap. They used a re-furbished coliseum as their main stadium. The cost of remodelling doesn't touch the cost of constructing State of the arts facilities from the ground up. LA was left with a remodeled old building, London will have a modern facility when all is said and done. Let's also not forget that LA took advantage of a strong world economy in 1984, whereas London is dealing with different times. But all that said, where is LA and California after they squandered all that profit....they are deep in debt with some cities even into bankruptcy.
I'm gonna need some evidence of this billion dollar profit..
Untrue. Organized Olympic Sports are played year around in Los Angeles and Southern California. No new specific facilities were needed then nor would be needed today to host a Summer Games in Los Angeles. Today L.A. also has already built and in use the airports, subway, rail lines, hotels, infrastructure, and is the world headquaters and leader of the television and internet content industry.

You are the worst.
LA set the standard.
Financial outlook for London looks bleak.
The London cabbies wanted to strike over the apartheid lanes but got stalled in traffic due to the apartheid lanes. London games are a flaming disaster. Hah hah ha !!

After accounting for the necessary security measures, the 2012 Olympics will be lucky to make any money.
What security ? They have homeless ex cons doing a crappy job aka army militants.
Interesting that the 2012 London Olympics with gain NBC in Los Angeles $2B in US and global revenue, to be spread around to local production companies, advertisers, ... $2B means Jobs Jobs Jobs.
quite a bit considering their tax rates are over 70%.
The Hollywood Televison industry make $Bs every Super Bowl, World Series, NBA Championships, Presidential Election, Olympics, etc.
