What do you guys think of these flats in the link below? They're 6 oz. Is that too heavy for 5000m? Im a highschool xc runner and just wanted an outside opinion on these shoes.

I'm a highschool XC/track runner. I like to use spikes especially in XC because you gain a better grip on the grassy courses. Unless there is a ton of concrete or asphalt on the course I don't use flats. Try the nike matumbo, they are my favorite.
Yeah but alot of the courses here in CA are dirt and road.
Go with the Nike Streak XC's.
That entire shoe, from the amount of cushioning to the sticky tread, was built specifically for the road. I've never run xc in California so I don't know exactly what the courses are like, but understand that the Hagio was not made for dirt or grass. I think it would be much more sensible to go with a shoe that was designed for the surface you're competing on/
Saucony A5 is comfortable and light. Incredible shoe
Go with the Adidas Melbourne spikes. Best ever made.
I wonder when Nike is going to put their Flykit upper on some spikes. The Trainer and Racer will be out in Fall. http://one50south.blogspot.com/
