People typically change their shoes out every 300-400 miles. That's not me at all.
My last pair of shoes I ran in for over 2,000 miles (and over 1 year) until they literally had holes in all sides of them. I've never had any injuries, most likely due to my body being relatively strong and never doing more than 70-80 miles per week.
The pair that I have right now is doing pretty well. They have ~1,000 miles, and I've been using them for 6 months. They're doing great except that some of the rubber on the bottom of my left shoe under my big toe has worn down to the foam because of my odd striking pattern. The rest of the rubber tread is still in tact.
I just want to know what materials I could use to repair this. I was thinking rubber cement might work well, but I don't want to use something like that if it could potentially ruin my shoes if they got wet, became too hot, etc.
Any ideas? (besides buying new shoes)
