I need a new running shoe. I'm looking for one that's under 8 ounces and pretty durable. However, I don't want a shoe like the Streak XC's that have nothing to them. I also like shoes with firm cushioning. Any recommendations?

Try the newest incarnation of the Adidas Adios - it is a bit more firm than the older one. It is really my favorite shoe ever.
Brooks Green Silence is nice, tho I hear they are planning to discontinue it. Under 7 oz and with firm cushioning and a light upper. The lacing and tongue are a little funky but I've never had any trouble.
I absolutely recommend the Adidas Adizero line. They have fair cushion with a more firm midsole than most cushioned shoes out there. Great feel at ground contact.
New balance 730. Shoes are firm and light with a wide toe box and 4mm heel toe drop.
Mizuno wave rider for more neutral support or mizuno precision for a lightweight neutral trainer. I personally love the precision.
My last two shoes were from the adidas adizero line. First, I had the rockets, which I absolutely loved, but they got discontinued. Then I moved up to the Boston 3's, which were pretty nice, but a little too much shoe for me.

^This
Nike Lunar Montreal
It is perfect for what your looking for.

Does this shoe ride like the original Luna trainer? I loved that shoe, had 12 pairs!
You guys don't have a clue. Firm cushioning shoe is not a structure triax. Adidas has the supernova series-not bad but they struggle keeping things in line. Fall back on the boston classic if still available.
Asics gel cumulus (not the same as nimbus boat) or nike max moto though nikes are never firm. They are actually somewhat soft even in the stability area.
Im running in the addidas glide. Not sure if they are addizero but they are light and solid. Im used to normal weight shoes and actually like these inspite of them feeling like flats to me.
Saucony Kinvara 3. New outsole improved durability big time, and under 8 oz (7.7 men's size 9). It's also the #1 selling lightweight/natural running shoe in the industry. Adidas shoes are seriously garbage. Their soccer cleats are the truth, but I wouldn't do a mud run in their running shoes.
You should get the SKECHERS GORUN. Under 7oz, nice cushion, and very durable.
It may be a bit soft for you but...

zoom elite. board in rearfoot. light. cushioned.
Nike Lunarspeed Lite.

Just got a pair for $25 last week. Can't complain about the price, that's for sure.
