I've always questioned the faster traffic gets lane one thing. Aren't all recreational users supposed to use outer lanes on a track so as to even out the wear and tear?
Lately, when getting to a track I've taken to using lane 6 or 7 for my intervals if it is open.
Back in college, I was part of a huge track team, and different event areas would have different lanes, all going pretty fast! It was actually pretty dangerous.
