I heard that Brooks is discontinuing the Green Silence starting next year. What would be a good subsitute for this shoe??

Just, fyi, they have hundreds of each size in stock in the US. So it won't be difficult to stock up.
Beyond that, it is an interesting shoe. Some think it is firm, others think it is responsive. I would say that the midsole seemed to last forever. However it felt, it seemed to feel that way for several hundred miles.
I rotated it with the Wave Musha. Though, the Musha will wear through the forefoot much faster.
I talked with the Brooks rep last week at the running store I walk for. They are discontinuing it, not just a rumor. This was to my dismay as well because i am training in the green silence and loving it. There are definitely still more of them available from brooks, but they aren't making any new ones. Fall 2012 or Spring 2013 they're coming out with a shoe that is supposed to be similar to the GS, but more in line with the rest of the PureProject. Whether it will be any good is another question. I hope so!

running warehouse has a bunch of green silence in stock. I've found the nb mr1400 sort of similar, but it has a more traditional lacing style and is a little less curved
Agree with the nb1400, but you should try the Kinvara 3 as well. Nearly the same weight just a bit more forefoot cushion.
Adidas Adios 2-- much firmer and stiffer than the originals. Definitely comparable to the Green Silence. Ironically, I tested both out at the same time, and got neither because they seemed too firm (had a right foot issue at the time that needed something softer).
Do you not think the NB MR10 is comparable? It's thinner and has less drop but seems like the last is similar.
