Young Bloods taking over.
Ever hear of Nick Symmonnds and Khadevis Robinson?
1 n in symmonds my brother
Finally in 2012 we are seeing the US distance comeback for the first time in 30 years with Primm, Jock, Andrews, Martin, Manzano, etc.

Funny examples to make your point.
NS=KR=0 medals

I never said anything about their chances of winning a medal. I was commenting on the likelihood that they will be going to London on the 800m team for the US instead of the three that OP listed.
is that really even an argument to use?
jock, prim, martin=o medals and titles beyond conference.
symmonds was a medal threat last year and can get back into that position again this year, especially after that 1:44 split he ran (1:43.9 corrected according to some). he isnt behind at this point like he was last year and has even more experience than ever. all he has to do this time is not be boxed with 100m to go like daegu.
kd is always a threat to make the team but this might be another 2008 trials scenario. he's not getting any younger and he hasnt made a single international championship final in his career, he kind of settled for winning U.S. titles when he was our #1. now that we have all these younger guys though who can not only challenge him but beat him, he cant make any screw ups. the way i see it is because of this scenario he has to make sure he is ready by the trials and hope he can keep it together at the games. (i.e. maybe peak a little early)
primm i dont think will get on the team as he is a time trialer guy, he has shown he isnt tactially saavy. the only way i see him making it is if the race is set up like a time trial (jock takes it hard from the gun) and then a few guys drop off who cant maintain the pace (i.e. jock). other than that he gets left off until he shows he can race.
martin crapped out at ncaa's and didnt make the final at usa's. he is definitely ahead of the ball game this year but last year i think he might have peaked a little early, its not impossible that this year is the same case. he knows how to race but he has to get into the trials final first and be properly peaked this time around.
jock i think can make the team again as he has been aiming to peak in london and is ahead of where he was last year as of now. he opened up in the 800m the fastest he's ever done and ran the second fastest time of his career today (in a more controlled fashion than at ncaa's last year where he went out in 49.8 to come back in 1:44.75. today went out in 50.mid and came back in 1:44.72). he is stronger and faster than last year and looks to have more tools available other than frontrunning. he is the only legit contender for the team out of the three listed IMO.
that being said, i want guys who earn their way onto the team but can also get into the final in London and challenge for some hardware. if that means someone up and coming, or a veteran, gets left off the team so be it. i want to see our guys do well, not have someone on the team who is just there for the "experience" as that just sounds like a bs excuse.
if your not going to be racing to win, or at least do well, i dont think you should be going.
The youth are our medal hopes.
Jock certainly has shown potential to run fast, but can he race? Primm is a very good time-trialer, but can he win a big race? Martin has potential, but that's it. At this point, I think Jock has the best chance of that group to make it onto the team, but I think guys like Wheating and Robby Andrews are the future -- not Primm or Martin. No one is going to knock the savvy Nick Symmonds off the team.
I still have not seen anything to suggest Nick and KD will not take 2 of the USOT spots. You need to be a solid 1:44x guy and able to navigate the rounds.
KD is 36.
If he runs under 1:46 that is a victory for him.
I expect a 1:45.5-8 from him and a 5th or 6th in the final.
He'll retire after 1 or 2 more races in Europe and then he'll coach somewhere.

You forgot one thing; KD will blame his failure to make the team on someone interefering with him or some type of conspiracy.
Never bet against Nick Symmonds in Eugene. If the Oly Finals were there he'd have a shot.
Just a few videos of Nick Symmonds racing at the national championships.

If Jock chooses to take on the pacing duties at the Trials and go through the first 400m in sub-51s then It will most likely be a repeat of last year's race.
Malibu Symmonds will be moving down to L.A. permamnently in June before London.

Awesome. Our team will do us proud at the Olys.
When was the last time the US medalled in the 800 at Outdoor WC/Olys ? Johnny Gray ?
right about there i believe. at least now we have people who can make it beyond the first round and some who are able to get into the finals.
