Masters runner looking to jump back on the track and run 800 to 5000; mostly the mile though. My last pair of spikes was 20 years ago. Help please. Thx.

hard to beat the victory or matumbo models--i've worn the victory spikes from 1500m to 10k cross country races...
agree with previous poster, although if you need a spike with a little more "meat" to it to avoid impact injuries and blisters, the milers, avantis, and endorphin 3's (both md and ld) are good options. just get a spike thats comfortable for you and works for you. if you really want a reccomendation based on quality though, it really is hard to beat the matumbos and victories. I'd say matumbos if your doing more longer stuff (3k, 5k) but if you plan on running lots of 800's than the victories as they can hold up well at the longer distances too.
addidas cadences are also a good shoe to use, they are aggresive enough to be used at 1500m but durable enough to be used at 10k as well. if they work well n 1500 then an 800 would be fine with them. any other info you can give to let us know what kind of shoes and spikes work for you is always helpful
Thanks to you and Cush for the recs. 5'10" 150 lbs. I used to (early 90s) hold up fine with little support and would imagine I'll be ok with more of a 800/1500 type shoe. I may jump into a 3000 or 2 if they are available, but doubt I'll be willing to endure the torture of a 12.5 lapper. Thx again.
