Who here has tried these? Specifically, has anyone used them in a marathon?
I have run most of my marathons in the Brooks T4-5-6 shoes. During the last few races my lower legs and feet felt more fatigued than in the past and I have been searching for a new shoe.
I ran a few tempo, interval and long TLT workouts in the Connect which went well. But then I had an issue in which it tried to cut my achilles tendon in half. This happened during a particularly brutal tempo cut-down session. Part of the problem was in the socks I used, which were a bit long in the tooth. The heel counter comes to a point which pulled the sock down and then dug into me flesh! After letting my heel heal up and performing surgery on the offending heel counter I think that issue is resolved.
It's a fair bit different shoe than I am used to considering the heel/toe drop, but I am a mid-foot striker with high cadence which led me to try these. My feet and legs have felt good so far - setting the heel issue aside.
