Pretty impressive, considering it's really early in the season.
Now the question is, can he keep it up for London 2012?

That's a good NCAA DI time... isn't sub-19.40 relevant now for 200m???
Hopefully he's ready to take a half second off of that for the Olympics.
The big question for London is if he can keep it in his own lane.
Only six guys broke 20 last year and counting max three per nation 20.16 gives you 8th 20.30 gets 12th and 20.38 16th.
While 1940 is relevant anyone who makes the final can get a medal.
I like Wallace jr and wish him well and yeah he better watch hid lane-once is heartbreaking again is stupidity
Spearmon still has to get by the US champs. He seems healthy, but lets be real, its going to take a 19.5 or under to get a medal in London, and Spearmon hasn't run even close to that fast in a while.
Why doesn't he try the relays too? He could be like Allyson, won't win in the 2 or 4, so get some in the relays.
Well maybe the 4x4, but the 4x1 yes.
You might need sub-19.3 to get gold or silver, buy maybe 19.6-19.7 gets bronze. I'm sure he'd take the bronze.
sub 20 is strong for March, who are you people kidding? But yes he will need 19.40 when it counts to medal, if we are talking about a healthy Bolt, Blake, and Gay in the final.
When and where? Wind?
That is an amazing time for March, well done.
What's not to like about Spearmon?
He always seems to give it his best, and there is no good reason that I can see to suspect that he isn't clean.
Like Patton, he may not be the absolute fastest guy around, but he's likely clean, and very close to being the best.
Maybe the US should have a charity match relay against Jamaica, 4x200. Dix, Gay, Spearmon...? Crawford? Mitchell?
Ran it at UTA in Arlington, TX. Wariner was 3rd in 20.54? Right before coming out of the turn it was obvious Spearmon was going to win. It was basically windless, perfect nite out, about 77 degrees maybe. I believe that the top 3 guys all the top 3 world leaders so far early in the year. Spearmon's time was .20 faster than the previous meet record which had been previously set by Michael Johnson.

What happened to Wariner? He got smoked by Spearmon. Is this a bad sign for him?
That's a great time this early in the season. However...I always need a couple races before I get too giddie.
Considering last years first 200s were 20.71 and 21.05 compared to 20.66 and 20.54 this year,, initially it would appear to be a good sign. (for comparison too his PR is 20.19.).
about .3 off their bests.
If Wariner can hold it together he'll be running 43.5.
If Spearmon can hold it together he should PR in the 200 this year, and he should look for more in the Relays.

Both Nesta Carter and Michael Frater are faster than Ashmeade.
The 200m was not windless. Legal +1.8m/s wind.
Doc Patton also ran 10.04s (+1.1m/s) in the 100m.
+1.8 is a great wind, and the time was actually 19.95
It's still a great time. Spearmon doesn't look very formidable in that frontal photo--he kind of looks like he's made of putty. He's never looked amazing, which is one reason I think he's clean.
I have always believed that 19.7x was Spearmon's "standard best"--that is, that if he was in good shape and uninjured at the right time of year, a 19.7x would be expected under reasonable conditions. Just my belief.
If true, that means that he should be capable of laying down a 19.6x or even a 19.5x sometime.
Good luck, Wallace--nice run, man.

Do you have any idea how moronic that statement is?
More proof Jeremy Wariner is done.
