Has anyone actually tried these? I see that they are based in Boulder, CO? Are they big in that area? Just curious if they were worth the price.

They look like overpriced trash to me.
overpriced definitely.
I rotate in a pair of Sir Isaac Newtons. I use them for tempos and races (5k-marathon).
I developed a few injuries (hip and hamstring) prior to the Newtons and I was interested in transitioning my foot strike from heel to mid or forefoot. I made the transition and am not dependent upon the Newtons.
Its another fad. I wore them for about 2 weeks until my calves couldnt take it anymore. I dont see how anyone can race in these. The whole idea is stupid. Get a racing flat to both train and race in. The flat will flex with your feet naturally. The Newtons and other clunky shoes dont allow you to get the necessary feel for the road. Slip in a pair of inserts to racing shoes if you need to.
