Seems like a reasonable amount to me. Enough with this crap.
agree.
Haha. Are you dyslexic with sarcasm or just crappy with math?
Calista Gingrich executive?
Pretty tough to think about charity when you are running two wars, dealing with the tea party and the republicans who would rather see the country go down in flames rather than actually help.

And that 14% in one year is more than you or your family will ever give in your life.
By the way, how are things going at Applebees?

That doesn't stop him from thinking about vacations...

This is called "spelling it out": he has enough time to take vacations...but, not enough time to think about charity. The poster was suggesting so much of his time was consumed with "important" things he shouldn't be bothered with trivial things, like supporting charity. And, yet, he had time to go away and do nothing for several periods of time throughout year. It's called a contradiction and indicates there is something clearly ignored by the posted. This kind of contradiction is intended to highlight something called irony. On earth, we call it obvious. I'm not sure they have such things wherever you're from. Didn't aliens like you evolve from mud or starry pixie dust or something? That's what all the cool astrophysicists say anyway.

He gives a considerable amount to charity and he's taken very few vacations (far, far fewer than his predecessor).
So, again, what are you talking about?
"Only"?
Do you think that most 50k earners give 7k to charity?
That most 100k earners give 14k? Etc?
Please. Certainly not his oppositions.

Oh my gahhh. The guy probably has the most stressful job on the planet. Everybody wants something from you, and you're constantly under scrutiny. Republicans hate you and think you've ruined the country, pushing your 'socialist agenda.' Democrats think you haven't acted liberally enough, and they're even more pissed at you because you 'didn't take advantage of their control of congress' to push through huge liberal legislation in your first 2 years.
The universally ignored truth, though, is that this president works his ass off.
Whether you like him or not, whether he's given none or all of his salary to charity, whatever - the man deserves to take a damn vacation.
I don't have a problem with how much he gave to charity or how many vacations he took. What does either one of those things have to do with his leadership on the war, the economy, immigration or healthcare, etc.?
Yawn.
Here's what you need to know about Obama:
Gingrich + Romney = 4 more years.
All the rest (like your post) is white noise.

You really think I don't get that? I was underscoring the obvious stupidity of the other guy's comment. I wouldn't want that job in a million years. No thanks...and I know the dude deserves a vacation. Many of them. But, to say he can't think about charity because he's got a stressful job is stupid. Old, young, smart or stupid, this is not a hard thing to figure out.

Agreed. He deserves a long vacation starting next January.

How much did you give? 14% of Obama's salary is pretty darn impressive. It's his money and he can spend it as he pleases.
I'm not too excited about the job our President has done, but giving 14% of his income to charity is pretty damn good. I make about 50k and could not imagine giving 7 grand to charity. Maybe I should.
Oh! forgive me for discussing the topic with someone as hard working as you since you never take time off from your stressful job as a world leader.
